The Twelve days of Christmas in Song – Day 9 continues with two songs from Ryan Davies the Welsh legend, who sadly died at the age of 40.
As an entertainer Ryan was the most outstanding Welsh performer of any era.
Ryan Davies was born in the Carmarthenshire village of Glanamman.
Educated at Bangor Normal College and the London Central School of Speech and Drama.
Ryan was the proverbial show business ‘all-rounder.’
Moreover, this most versatile of performers could mesmerise an audience with his abundant talents.
Ryan Davies Songwriting Talent
Of course, Ryan’s songwriting talent is still very much in evidence. The two featured songs here are popular with Welsh Male Voice Choirs.
‘Pan Fo’r Nos yn Hir’ (When the Night is Long) tells of the anguish of sleepless nights until the face of a loved one is imagined. All fears subsequently subside.
‘Ti a dy Ddoniau’ (You and your Talents) is a bitter-sweet account of how an unfaithful partner can humiliate and destroy a relationship.
From a Christmas Cracker:
What is the best Christmas present?
A broken drum, you can’t beat it!
