Denbigh Choir celebrates the festive season, entertaining audiences and rounding off a busy and successful year. Now, 2024 beckons with upcoming concerts.
Choir Returns to ASDA
Special Offers were plentiful. A male voice choir in attendance. And an elf or two!
Following a successful fundraising event last year, it is not surprising that the choir returned to the ASDA store, Kinmel Bay, on 10th December, 2023. A warm welcome assured, a mixture of Christmas Carols and Songs from our concert repertoire were performed and appreciated.
With an abundance of good humour and festive spirit the choir entertained shoppers and staff alike.
Moreover, the shoppers did not have to buy ONE to get One FREE, the most popular item performed was ‘American Trilogy’, which gave them THREE. The sustained applause said it all.
Surprisingly, an unusual performance of the hymn ‘Llanfair’ was also appreciated.
The choir would like to extend it’s grateful thanks to the management and staff of ASDA, Kinmel Bay for allowing us to perform at your store. We appreciate your continued support.
We wish you all a Happy New Year and hope to see you all again next year.
Choir Spreads Christmas Cheer
Audience participation and ‘singalong’ were the order of the day when the choir entertained residents at Awel y Dyffryn Retirement Apartments, Denbigh on 19th December 2023. A mixture of Concert items and Christmas songs and Carols were performed.
Moreover, with the choir members wearing Christmas jumpers, Santa hats, Reindeer Antlers and novelty glasses, festive fun was assured.
With his usual good humour, Clwyd Wynne, involved the residents from the start. Choir members and residents raised the roof with a rousing rendition of the carol ‘Good King Wenceslas’.
The entertainment continued in the same vein. Once again, audience participation during the choir’s performance of ‘Medli’ saw the residents happily clapping along. The medley of four Welsh Folk Songs, arranged by our MD & Accompanist, Sam Pritchard, is always an audience favourite.
We know how much the residents enjoyed the evening. We hope that we will be invited to perform for you again next Christmas.
Mayor’s Charity Concert 2024
The choir are both pleased and privileged at having been invited to perform at the Mayor of Denbigh’s
Charity Concert 2024.
We are grateful to Councillor Alyn Ashworth, Mayor of Denbigh for the kind invitation.
The chosen charities are North Clwyd Animal Rescue, St Kentigern Hospice, Hope House/ Ty Gobaith Children’s hospices and Sense. Each one a very worthy cause.
Once again, it will be an immense pleasure to share the stage with Guest Soloist, Kathryn Nash. A great entertainer, Denbigh born and bred, Kathryn is always a joy to see her on the concert stage.
Moreover, Kathryn has an impeccable singing pedigree having won the Mezzo Soprano solo at the National Eisteddfod of Wales.
Tickets for the concert are £10 each, available from Denbigh Town Hall, Siop Clwyd in Denbigh and Siop Elfair in Ruthin. We hope that you will be able to support the concert and the very worthwhile charities.
