The January Denbigh Choir Newsletter contains all the latest information about what’s happening in the choir.
New Songs for Choir Repertoire
Despite the cold winter weather the choir is still turning out for the Weekly Choir Practice at Eirianfa Centre.
Moreover, this is the period that Musical Director Arwyn Roberts allocates to learning new material to add to our concert repertoire.
Among the new material is ‘Yesterday’ (Beatles) and ‘Bring Him Home’ and Do You Hear the People Sing’ from the stage musical ‘Les Miserables’.
Twelve Days of Christmas Choir Songs
The 12 Days of Christmas Choir Songs proved to be a popular feature. Readers may also be interested to know which songs, taken from our Gala Concert, generated the most attention.
The Top 5 are as follows with the percentage:
1. Y Ddau Wladgarwr (20%)
2. American Trilogy (13%)
3. Amen (11%)
4. Pan Fo’r Nos yn Hir/Ti a Dy Ddoniau (10%)
5. Safwn yn y Bwlch (9%)
New Choir Members
It’s always satisfying to report when new faces turn up at choir practice. Especially so when intentions of joining the choir are expressed.
The circumstances regarding Roger Mullock’s eventual choir membership are both interesting and heart-warming.
Roger, married to choir vice president, the late Meg Mullock, was an avid supporter of all choir activities.
On Meg’s passing, Roger thought that becoming a choir member would strengthen his choir contact and also perpetuate Meg’s long term association with the choir.
Tweedmill Return Visit
On Saturday, January 27 the choir is to sing once again at this popular retail outlet.
In conclusion, we are looking forward to entertaining the customers between the hours of 1:30pm and 4pm. Hope to see you there.
