An eminent photographer said that the best pictures are often seen behind you. But we get out of the habit of looking back.
So, here’s a backward glance at the Denbigh choir annual review for 2016.
Denbigh Choir Accompanist Review
First of all, the year started with palpable apprehension for the choir. Joyce Davies, our accompanist for over 9 years, was retiring. Apprehension almost became panic before Nia Jones came to the rescue.

Nia’s First Concert with Arwyn Roberts
Moreover, the transition has been seamless. Nia has formed a fluent musical relationship with conductor Arwyn Roberts and the choir.
The future looks assured.
Denbigh Choir Members Review
But the choir also experienced sadness during 2016. The passing of two experienced and valued members in Leslie Jones and Gordon Price.
However, the membership of the choir has remained constant. Furthermore, new members are always welcome.
Social Media Choir Annual Review
The choir is appreciative of the faithful following it receives on social media. We now have over 400 Likes on the choir Facebook page. Gone are the days when the the number was just two choir members!
Also, our Twitter followers increase on an annual basis. Additionally, the choir website now shows over 51,000 page visits since it started.
Thank you for your support. We make every effort to keep our pages interesting.
Recently we have made changes to the Photo Gallery. We hope you like the new developments.
Denbigh Concert Review
Our concerts at St John’s Church, Llandudno have been well-received. We look forward to our return visits in 2017. The dates can be seen on our website Concert section.
Our charity concert for St Kentigern’s Hospice at St Dyfnog Church, Llanrhaeadr was notable. It was Nia Jones’ first concert with us. A remarkable performance.
The ‘Concert for Derek’ at Rhuddlan Church was an emotional, yet uplifting evening. In memory of previous choir member Derek Jones.
Our final concert of the year was at St Mary’s Church, Denbigh. We shared the stage with the talented Denbighshire Youth Brass Band. We’ll never forget the rousing standing ovation.
