New Year’s Eve – always a time for reflection, but also an opportunity to look forward to the new year. So here is a year review of some choir events of 2022.
Joint Concert – First of Year
On 25th June the choir held a joint concert with Llanddulas Male Voice Choir. Moreover, the concert was to raise funds to assist Nia Roberts with her laudable volunteering work in The Gambia project.
Notable as it was the first concert with Sam Pritchard, our new Musical Director and Accompanist in charge.
Moreover, Sam and his mother, Nia, shared the conducting and accompanying duties.
With guest soloists Jenny Coates, Kizzy Cooper and Bethan Guiver the concert was an excellent night of musical entertainment.
In addition, the concert raised over £2,400.00 toward Wullinkamma Arribaja Clinic. You can read the full blog of the concert here Charity Concert Raises Vital Funds.
Concert at Trefnant Village Hall
On 26th November 2022, the Choir were in concert at Trefnant Village Hall. Moreover, we were assisting the Village Hall Management Committee to raise funds for the MacMillan Cancer Care.
A pleasure to have Kate Griffiths as our guest soprano soloist once again.
A large enthusiastic audience filled the hall, eagerly anticipating the concert. Sustained applause and a final standing ovation showed that they had thoroughly enjoyed the night. You can read the full blog about the concert from the following link Choir Returns with Songs Old and New
In addition, a very successful night financially. Over £1,000.00 raised and donated to MacMillan Support
A big thank you to the Trefnant Village Hall Management Committee for the kind invitation to assist you.
Light Up A Life Service
St Dyfnog’s Church in Llanrhaeadr was the venue for the choir to take part in a ‘Light Up A Life’ service n 8th December 2022.
Again, another appearance to raise funds for a very good cause. This time for the local St Kentigerns Hospice.
The choir performed a number of pieces of music, in addition to leading the congregational singing of carols.
The congregation took the opportunity to light candles in memory of loved ones lost. Always a moving and cherished moment.
We are pleased to have assisted in raising over £560 for St Kentigerns Hospice on the night.
Successful Year Review
Following the Covid pandemic it was good to be back entertaining audiences once again.
2022 was a successful year in which we assisted different charitable causes to raise much needed funds.
End of year Fundraising
On the afternoon of 10th December 2022, the choir performed at Tweedmill Shopping Outlet.
With the emphasis on fun and enjoyment, the choir entertained both customers and staff. A mixture of Carols, Christmas Songs and items from our concert repertoire were sure winners.
Even the staff admitted that they had been dancing and joining in the singing!!
A further fundraising performance took place at the ASDA Store in Kinmel Bay on 21st December.
Our two Christmas Elves, Sam Pritchard and Clwyd Wynne, assisted with the magic of the occasion!
Voluntary bucket collections in aid of choir funds were made at both performances. We send our thanks to your customers for their generosity.
The choir also extends its grateful thanks to the management and staff of both Tweedmill and ASDA for allowing us to entertain your customers and the very warm welcome we received.
Happy New Year
We would like to wish all our friends and supporters a very happy and healthy New Year. We hope that 2023 will be a very good year and we look forward to entertaining you again soon.
