The Denbigh Choir Annual Dinner in verse. I thought that would make a change. The Brookhouse Mill Restaurant, Denbigh full to capacity. It was a joyous occasion with many poignant moments. The evening is described in verse.
We turned up at the Brookhouse Mill
For the Choir Annual Dinner.
A sumptuous three course meal
With every dish a winner.
Thanks at Denbigh Choir Annual Dinner in Verse
Vice chairman, Paul Harrison, said thanks
Without too much favour or waffle;
Starting off with Paul Denney
For his work on the weekly raffle.

Hanna and Paul draw the Raffle
Accolades are given out
To those that give their time.
Every little help assists
Keep the choir in its prime
Thanks to Mike Baines and Huw Jones
For ‘cups of tea’ on practice night.
The chocolate biscuits and fig rolls
Are an endless taste of delight.
Gron Wynne’s abundant talents
Keep choir accounts in the black.
His art work is also nifty
He really has the knack.
Richard Thompson for keeping his beady eye
On the website every week.
There’s always the latest blog to write
And pages and photos to tweak.
Meticulous Preparation
To Dafydd Lloyd Jones, our secretary
For meticulous preparation.
His patience and good nature
Are deserving of a citation.
Clwyd Wynne, our genial compere
Is our joker in the pack.
His jokes and general bonhomie
Ensure we can go back.

Geraint and Clwyd sing Hymns and Arias at the Denbigh Choir Annual Dinner
Arwyn and Nia together
Make a formidable musical pair.
Where would we be without them?
Out on a wing and a prayer.
Past members and relatives
Are welcomed once again.
All part of our proud history
And a trip down memory lane.
The Raffle produced many prizes
And each one happily claimed.
But now it’s time for the singing
Full throttle and sustained.

Singing Quartet at the Denbigh Choir Annual Dinner
There were jokes and monologues
And even a trick or two.
By now, you’ve got the idea
That this dinner was ‘quite a do’.

June’s Jokes has them in Stitches at the Denbigh Choir annual Dinner
There’s one thing more to remember
It’s said both loud and clear.
The choir annual dinner
Will be repeated again next year.
P.S.
This extra verse is included
To point you in the right direction;

Excellent blog Richard. We clearly have an accomplished poet in our ranks, joining the artists and author.
Thanks for your kind remarks Paul. Took a bit longer to write but I thought it would provide a change for our readers.
