Loyal choir member Elfed Evans is not among the bass ranks of the choir at the Wedding of Lowri and Jorge. There is a stonewall reason for his absence. He is giving his daughter, Lowri Ann Evans, away at her wedding to Jorge André Rilo Fernandes.

St Marcella’s Church, Denbigh
The choir arrived in good time at St Marcella’s Church, Denbigh, on Friday July 29.
First of all, the choir entertained with a mixture of Welsh and English, traditional and contemporary songs. Ushers Rhys Evans, Pedro Fernandes and Joäo Fernandes showed guests to their seats.
Lowri’s Entrance

Lowri Arriving at St Marcella’s Church with Father, Elfed Evans
Lowri and Elfed made their entrance to ‘A Thousand Years’ played on a plaintive harp.
The bridal procession included Maid of Honour, Manon Evans and bridesmaids Sara Webster, Nia Evans, Alyd Hall and Mari Hall.
Officiating were Rev. Canon Pauline Walker and Rev. Thomas Evans-Williams.
The Rev. Tom Williams described the merging of the rivers Clwyd and Elwy. Each starting its separate, uncertain journey.
Then forming one in St Asaph to become an irresistible force. It was the perfect analogy for marriage. Two families merging together to give direction, unity and strength.
Wedding of Lowri and Jorge Vows
Lowri and Jorge then exchanged vows with conviction and without falter.
This unity further endorsed with the congregational singing of Pen Yr Yrfa. The most appropriate words for a wedding, sung with gusto and fervour.
Then Kelly Potter read the sensitive and touching poem ‘Mi Gerddaf Gyda Thi’ (I will Walk With You).
During the signing of the Register the choir performed ‘[easyazon_link identifier=”B00JS24EZ8″ locale=”UK” tag=”denanddismalv-21″]The Rose[/easyazon_link].’ Peter Davies in fine voice for the solo part. ‘The Rose’ is the most requested song at our weddings.
We then followed with a joyous rendition of ‘Calon Lân.’
The congregation and choir enjoyed singing ‘Love Divine All Loves Excelling.’ To the tune, Blaenwern, this Charles Wesley mainstay of wedding hymns enriched the service.

Wedding of Lowri and Jorge
Purcell’s majestic Trumpet Tune accompanied the Wedding of Lowri and Jorge and procession out of the church. Organist Barry Seaman and church organ, just like our newly-weds, in the most perfect harmony.

Lowri and Mother, Janet Evans
We wish Lowri and Jorge every future happiness together.
