April Showers in the Vale of Clwyd did not get in the way of the choir performing at the wedding reception of Daniel and Lisa on April 1st 2017.
Stunning Setting in the Vale
The marriage of Daniel and Lisa had taken place in the morning at Mold. The venue for the reception was the Vale Country Club, near Ruthin.
In between the showers, the location offered stunning views of the beautiful Vale of Clwyd.
Daniel and Lisa Life’s Journeys
On arrival, the wedding breakfast room was all ready.
Moreover, an interesting item was a map of the world. It appeared to be a list of the wedding guests, and where they had come from.
However, I was informed by Daniel’s father, that it was a list of all the countries Daniel and Lisa had journeyed to.
There was a display of photographs of relatives of the Bride and Groom taken during their own life journeys.
Daniel and Lisa Arrive in Style
As the wedding party arrived it was clear that the Bride and Groom and close family had made the journey to the reception in style.
The cars had been painstakingly restored by Daniel’s father, Bob. (Bob G & G to everyone who knows him).

Choir Entertains
As the guests assembled the choir started their performance with ‘Y Ddau Wladgarwr’ followed by ‘Hine e Hine’.
Then a number of songs, all selected in advance by the Bride and Groom.
Peter Davies, Baritone Soloist, was in fine voice for ‘You Raise Me Up’ and ‘The Rose’.
He also took the announcement of the drinking song ‘Iechyd Da’ (Good Health) literally!

‘The Welsh Trilogy’ was a firm favourite, with a number of guests joining in the singing of ‘Sospan Bach’.
Also, audience participation was also in evidence during ‘We’ll Keep A Welcome’ and ‘Calon Lan’.
Bob made a final request for the choir to sing ‘Myfanwy’. It had been his father’s favourite song.
The choir duly obliged and a few tears were in evidence. Quite a moving moment.
New Journey for Daniel and Lisa
The happy couple now start a new journey of married life together.

Daniel and Lisa
The choir wish you both all health, wealth & happiness during this journey.

We had the privilege of being invited to Dan and Lisa’s wedding. The presence of the choir was a pure joy to experience. Music, song and laughter .. Hiraeth ! The rendition of “Myfanwy” was very poignant to us as a family as you identified.. and was much appreciated. Diolch yn fawr iawn . ..Personally Sospan Fach was the song for me!!
Hello Ann. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to let us know how much you enjoyed the choir’s participation in Daniel & Lisa’s wedding celebrations. We also enjoyed being part of their special day. We were more than happy to accommodate Bob’s request and I am pleased that both you and Bob enjoyed our rendition of ‘Myfanwy’. I think that ‘Sospan Bach’ was the favourite song for a few people judging by the audience participation!
Thank you again for posting your comment.
Kind regards
Paul Harrison
