When Henllan School choir performed a joint concert with us a couple of weeks ago, we knew they were good. What we didn’t know was just how good.
Henllan School Concert Success
In fact, the joint concert, performed to an almost capacity audience, was a resounding success. The PTA raised over £470 for Henllan school funds.
Varied Concert Programme
During the concert we were treated to a varied programme. Apart from the full choir performing, a small group, Parti Unsain, performed ‘Ty Nain’.
There were cornet introductions to songs and a recitation.
The highlight had to be when the school choir sang ‘Sospan Bach’ with the Denbigh Choir joining in for the choruses.
County Eisteddfod Competitions
Following the concert, the school took part in the Urdd County Eisteddfod.
Again Parti Unsain performed ‘Ty Nain’. Furthermore, they were successful in coming an outstanding first in their competition.
Congratulations on your excellent win.
Moreover, Parti Unsain now go forward to compete at the National Urdd Eisteddfod in Bridgend at the end of May.
Additionally, all best wishes from the Denbigh and District Male Voice Choir.
In addition, Henllan school’s guitar group, Ensemble Offer, came a very creditable third place in their competition. Well done to the four of you.
Proud Head Teacher
Gethin Mon Jones, Head Teacher, said:
“It was a very successful County Eisteddfod and we are really proud of all the pupils who were involved.
I would personally like to thank the staff for their time and effort. They have been working diligently behind the scenes over the past few weeks.
In conclusion, a final thanks to the parents for their support.
We now look forward to taking our Parti Unsain to the National Eisteddfod and we are confident that they will do their best.
We are all very proud of them!”
Finally, we also send our very best wishes to Parti Unsain for their visit to Bridgend.
